Egypt Fellowships Program - Harvard University and MIT
Program Overview:
The Egyptian Ministry of Finance has established a fellowship endowment with Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in order to help scholars pursue a graduate degree without the worries of tuition and monthly expenses. This fellowship opportunity is open to all ages. The Ministry of Finance has contracted the Institute of International Education to assist competitive scholars with the admissions process. Please note, IIE does not award this fellowship. Our task is to help Egyptian scholars prepare themselves for the university admissions process.
The Arab Republic of Egypt has established university fellowships for graduate degree study at Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Eligible Harvard University Graduate Schools:
1. School of Government (JFK);
2. School of Public Health;
3. Graduate School of Education;
4. Graduate School of Design.
Eligible MIT Graduate Schools:
1. School of Engineering;
2. School of Science;
3. Whitaker College of Health Sciences and Technology;
4. School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences;
5. School of Architecture and Planning;
6. Sloan School of Management.
General Eligibility Requirements:
Meet all Harvard University or MIT graduate program admissions requirements or be a current Harvard University or MIT graduate student in good standing, in one of the above schools/ departments;
Must be a resident citizen of the Arab Republic of Egypt;
Completed military service or received an exemption or postponement of service, prior to enrolling at designated school (males only);
Demonstrated academic and/or professional excellence in their chosen fields of study;
Committed to "public service" and the advancement of Egyptian society with a stated interest in working for the betterment of the people of Egypt after graduation for four years.
Pre- Admissions Support Services:
The Arab Republic of Egypt has contracted with the Institute of International Education to provide pre-admissions support services to qualified applicants. Such services may include:
Individual admissions and application guidance consultations;
Standardized test and test preparation information;
Specialized Workshops: essay writing, CV preparation, portfolio compilation, etc.

Step 1: Choose the university, department and degree you wish to apply to in 2011.
Step 2: Contact the Institute of International Education for university admissions requirements
Step 3 (A and B):
A) Apply directly to Harvard University or MIT
B) Apply for IIE’s October/November 2011 workshops which will help you create a great university admissions package that you will submit directly to Harvard University or MIT.
Step 4: If admitted, apply for the fellowship (you will only request to be nominated or apply for fellowship if admitted into Harvard University or MIT.
